Delegates at the 3rd Summit on Financing for Infrastructure Development in Africa
An AFCONE delegation, led by its Chairperson, Mr. Gaspard Liyoko Mboyo, and including the Vice-Chairperson and Acting Executive Secretary, Mr. Ahmed Bezeid Deida, participated in the African Union Commission’s largest continental summit on infrastructure financing, held in Luanda from 28 to 31 October 2025.
Organized by the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) and the African Union Commission (AUC), in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Angola, the summit brought together more than 3,000 participants, including Heads of State and Government, senior policymakers, and development partners.
This event follows on from the 2023 Dakar Summit and aligns with the ambitions of Agenda 2063, which seeks to drive Africa’s industrial, energy, and digital transformation through accelerated investment in critical infrastructure and sustainable development.
On the sidelines of the summit, the AFCONE delegation held several meetings with participating delegations. The discussions focused mainly on AFCONE’s mission and role, and on ways and means of strengthening its leadership in advancing nuclear science and technology for peaceful purposes across the continent.
