As a Follow Up to the Meeting organised by the AFCONE with its Partners (UNICRI, EC and IAEA) on 24 June 2021(AFCONE AUC EC UNICRI IAEA Webinar on “Nuclear Security in Africa” – African Commission on Nuclear Energy), the AFCONE has been invited to participate to the 15th Regional Round Table Meeting for Eastern and Central Africa (ECA) of the European Union CBRN Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence (CoE) Initiative held in Nairobi (Kenya) on 1 & 2 December 2021.

The Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) risk mitigation center of excellence secretariat for Eastern and Central Africa (ECA) was launched on 2nd December 2021 (KNRA – Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority.)
The AFCONE Vice Chairman attended the Meeting, presented a Communication on the AFCONE mandate, the importance allocated to strengthen the regional cooperation and coordination in this Sensitive Field, with the AUC Relevant Department. He also discussed the opportunities of further cooperation with the already established African Network of CBRN Centres of Excellence.
