AFCONE IAEA Workshop on Promoting Effective Interaction among Stakeholders in African Countries Introducing or Expanding a Nuclear Power Programme”

29 & 30 June 2021

The AFCONE organised in close coordination with the IAEA Nuclear Energy Department this Important Subject related to Communication & Coordination when managing Nuclear Power Plants Projects.

Following the Opening Remarks presented by HE Dr Amani, AUC Commissioner for Infrastructure & Energy, Mr Hahn, IAEA Nuclear Energy Division Director and the AFCONE Executive Secretary, The IAEA Representatives detailed the subject from different perspectives (project management, milestones, media, public acceptance, nuclear safety..)

Two Experts from Africa (Ghana and Nigeria) presented the national experience in the field and the challenges faced.

Dr V.Nkong Njock highlighted the added value to consolidate the networking in Africa.

Similar Events will be organised in 2021, inviting the African Countries and Institutions considering nuclear power in their energy mix national strategy.
