AFCONE AUC EC UNICRI IAEA Webinar on “Nuclear Security in Africa”

AFCONE organised in Close Cooperation with the European Commission, the UNICRI and the IAEA a Meeting updating the current situation in terms of projects and activities implemented in Africa related to Nuclear Security.

The Meeting was introduced by the AFCONE ES, the AUC PAPS Commissioner, the UNICRI Deputy Director and the IAEA NSS DDG.

Nine Speakers detailed the Nuclear Security Subject from different perspectives (Status in Africa & Importance of R&D, IAEA INNSP Support, FNRBA Programme,  EC CBRN Centres & JRC, Actions implemented by the 3 African CBRN Centres, ISTC & EC Project in SADC Region, AFRICSIS mission and programme.

In Conclusion, Strengthened Synergy and Coordinated Programmes between all the Stakeholders have been recommended.
