The AFCONE has been mandated by the 3rd AUC Specialized Technical Committee (STC) Ministerial Meeting on Education Science & Technology, held in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) 10-13 December 2019, to develop, with the IAEA and the African Union Partners, a Nuclear Sciences and Technology Research and Development Program that promote the use of nuclear energy for sustainable development in areas such as agriculture, health, infrastructure, mining, security, water, energy, and environment among others; and to carry out capacity building, education and training activities for the safe and secure use of nuclear energy.
The dynamic potential of the African Women in Nuclear will be fully integrated to the programme of work.
