AFCONE (African NWFZ) – Kazakhstan (Central Asian NWFZ) Cooperation Development: Meeting with HE the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to South Africa (17 August 2020)

Mr Messaoud Baaliouamer, Executive Secretary of the African Commission on Nuclear Energy (AFCONE) and His Excellency Ambassador Kanat Tumysh of Kazakhstan to the Republic of South Africa discussed the Commemoration of the 29th of August – the International Day against Nuclear Tests.

The diplomats commended H.E. Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev, First President of Kazakhstan for Reinforcing his Noble Initiative and Continuing his Global Agenda towards Nuclear Weapon Free World.

AFCONE and Kazakshtan, convened to Foster, with the Support of the UN Office of Disarmament Affairs, the Dialogue among nuclear-weapon-free zones (NWFZs).

The AFCONE Executive Secretary, talked during a special Interview to The Diplomat Informer (Engagement with the African Comission on Nuclear Energy: Central Asia and Africa will benefit from Inter-Regional Dialogue on Nuclear Energy Governance & Kazakhstan continues its strong course towards Nuclear-Weapon-Free World, 29 August 202) about scheduled joint activities to be organized by AFCONE Secretariat, Government of Kazakhstan, International Science and Technological Centre (ISTC) and other stakeholders in this sphere in September – November 2020.

The Signature of a MoU between AFCONE, Representing the African Nuclear Weapon Free Zone and the Central Asian NWFZ, will be organised in October – November 2020.
