The Ministerial Meeting adopted the Report “ Recalling the decision of the Executive Council (EX.CL/Dec.339 (X) (2007) on the contribution of nuclear energy to peace and sustainable development; and Requesting the African Commission on Nuclear Energy (AFCONE) , AU Commission Strategic Partners in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to develop a Nuclear Sciences and Technology Research and Development Programs that promote the use of nuclear energy in for sustainable development in areas such as agriculture, health, infrastructure, mining, security, water, energy, and environment among others; and to carryout capacity building, education and training activities for the safe and secure use of nuclear energy.
